The Carl and Marie Lawaetz Musuem at Little La Grange is located one mile
northeast of Fredriksted on Route 76. Carl Lawaetz is the father of the current
caretakers, Kai and Irene Lawaetz. He moved to St. Croix from Denmark in the 1900's.
The premises were used as both a cattle ranch and sugarcane farm. Building is an
excellent example of Danish-West Indies construction. Immediately adjacent to the house is
a magnificient botanical garden, which Kai prides himself on.
